Carnivore was our second CD, produced in 2002 or so. Quite a number of songs were recent creations, while a few songs were from Dennis and Fritz's archive from years ago. Mama was written in the early 1980's and Never Turn Away was created during a jam in the early '90's.

Dennis writes about creativity:

"Where did all of this music come from? How did this tune get stuck in my head? I digress. Musicians are people too. If you cut us do we not bleed? Of course we do! Then we sit down, pick a key and write yet another song:

Oh I cut myself and now I bleed. I need a band aid, if you please.
I'll write it down and make a song. Just give me a minute it wont take long.

That was off the top of my head and will never make it on to any type of recording but you get the idea. It is, at times, just that simple to create a new tune. Some one will have a riff or an off beat lyric or decide it's a good day to try a country tune. Perhaps it was a line from an earlier conversation that got stuck in a mind to be churned around and regurgitated as a song days/weeks/months later."
